Allow Copy and Paste in Mozilla Firefox
One disadvantage of Using Mozilla with editors like Kupu is that you can't copy and paste. This is because of security problems. However for trusted sites you can enable this useful feature as shown below.
There are other methods but I found the addons outdated. This is one method I would recommend.
Novice Users:
Note: This method could be prone to user error. You may want to try the next one where you install a plugin, do a copy/paste, and then edit a value.- 1) Create a new window or tab.
- 2) type 'about:config' into your url bar. (No quotes.)
- 3) Now right click in the content section of the browser, and select New->String.
- 4) Enter 'capability.policy.policynames' into the "New String Value" box. (Without quotes.)
- 5) Click OK
- 6) Type 'allowclipboard' in the "Enter string value" box. (Without quotes.)
- 7) Click OK
Repeat steps 4-7 with the following string name/value pairs:
NOTE!: Replace both www.mysite.com values with your domain name. Do not include an ending slash on the website, or copy/paste will not work. Also note that you can add multiple sites using spaces.
| Name | Value |
| capability.policy.policynames | allowclipboard |
| capability.policy.allowclipboard.sites | http://www.mysite.com https://www.mysite.com |
| capability.policy.allowclipboard.Clipboard.cutcopy | allAccess |
| capability.policy.allowclipboard.Clipboard.paste | allAccess |
You may want to bookmark this page in case you need to come back.
Now exit all Firefox/Mozilla browser windows. You should now be all set to use copy/paste. Restart....

- Note: Kupu still lets you use ctrl-X for cut, ctrl-c for copy and ctrl-v for paste.
