vsCore 1.1
vsCore1.1 builds on 1.0, replacing slots with specialised add-in pages, and allowing the user to turn off areas of the page.
Features new to 1.1:
- CSS changes to default vsCore skin needed to run on top of Plone 2.5
- can now place content in different areas of the page using simple "add_in" pages, sidestepping the need for portlet machinery (Renders the "static_portlet" ATDocuments in 1.0 obsolete)
- can turn different areas of the page off: breadcrumbs, personal bar, even content!
Features that already existed in vsCore1.0:
- create a link for some or all occurrences of a keyword in a document.
- portlets that display random documents and images, or the results of smart folders.
- New options in preferences; including the ability to change skin without going through the ZMI
- customize main_template differently for my. and www. sites
- direct user to login form whenever www. protocol is not used
- View SEO inefficient pages
- utilities: switch discussion off, change page creator, replace many instances of the same broken link at once, or show an activity stats page for any given web document.
- vsCore comes with a default skin, vsSkin.
Installation is via the usual method: Install as a Zope product and then install
in your Plone instance with QuickInstaller (the Add/Remove option in the preferences panel)
The authors are very grateful to Sri Chinmoy, without whose inspiration and
encouragement vsCore would never have seen the light of day.
